Our Mission

The Accidental Festival invites audiences into an immersive world in which we showcase and support contemporary performance ideas.

Audience is at the heart of this festival. It is a celebration of the excitement, stimulation and human connection performance is capable of sharing. The work programmed will be concerned with ideas we find important, topical and innovative. This ranges from the importance of travel and internationalism, culture and language, chaos and play. As audiences ourselves, we believe the most interesting and difficult work carries the balance between the heart and the experiment, the unfamiliar and the accessible. Good performances problematize the way we view life and great performances change it. We celebrate brave decisions and embrace the risks taken to push boundaries of audience-performer conventions. Artistic outreach is a big focus for this year’s festival; which targets young practitioners and facilitates a space for collaboration, creation and connection. We are a social arena connecting young hearts and minds. We are risks loving and accident embracing . We are the Accidental Festival.
