The Accidental Festival is produced and managed by students from the Performance Arts Pathway at The Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London, and the Centre for Excellence in Training for Theatre.

Now in its fourth year, the festival is a platform for a wide and diverse landscape of performance from both professional and emerging artists and theatre practitioners. In the festival's three year history we have welcomed and presented the work of over 100 international artists and companies. Previously the festival has welcomed special guests such as Richard Foreman, and Anne Bogart.

It is also a place to explore the role of performance in visual art, music, fashion, film and photography. 2009’s programme welcomes two short film showcases, a performance photography exhibition, and an Accidental first, performance poetry. There will be one-to-one performances hidden about the building as well as performance installations and live music.

Diversity, eccentricity, intimacy and exchange collide to form the flesh of the festival.

A cross-section of art forms is strengthened by a sturdy skeleton of celebration and social interaction.

This year, we are happy to announce that the festival will take place at the prestigious Roundhouse in Camden, where it will play host to an exhilarating collection of companies and artists, many professional, some student, and all wishing to explore performance through their participation within the festival.

Through its veins runs a growing network of artists, performers and audience.

At its heart is performance.

A force to be reckoned with and one that is sure to leave its mark on you, keep your wits about you because The Accidental Festival cannot be tamed

Once again the festival is supported by the Centre for Excellence in Training for Theatre (CETT), which has been created by the Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London (CSSD). CETT works to provide a national resource for vocational performing arts training and learning, a focus for theatre research and scholarship, and a site for collaboration, nationally and internationally, between industry, Higher Education, and specialist training providers.
